Growing Strong

Our founder, Scott Luetgenau, is a man in long term recovery and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). After a successful career in the restaurant industry, Scott received his BSW from North Carolina State University and Master in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has served as Vice-chair of the NC Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence and a board member for Addiction Professionals of North Carolina.

Founded in 2019, Gatespring stemmed from Scott's passion to educate, empower, and empathize with those struggling with substance use disorders, promote access to social determinants of health and provide compassionate, competent care. What started as a side project consulting with SAMHSA's Opioid Response Network (ORN), has  branched off into a nationally-recognized organization comprised of Gatespring Consulting, Gatespring Learning, and Gatespring Therapy.

Gatespring has excelled as a provider to individuals, communities, and organizations seeking guidance for their efforts to contribute to the cultivation of equitable, sustainable solutions across the spectrum of substance use care. In recent years, Gatespring has provided services to national organizations, non-profits, and substance use professionals on a range of evidence based topics, including recovery leadership, medication assisted treatment, and workforce resiliency.
